The Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences(FHAS) was established in 2014 in an effort to increase health and allied science-related programmes to promote the development of the health industry in Ghana and the West Africa sub-region.

The academic programmes at FHAS prepare students for careers in medical laboratory technology, biomedical engineering technology, diagnostic medical imaging, nuclear medicine, bioengineering technology, dispensary technology, phlebotomy technicians and nursing/home healthcare.

The Faculty currently runs two Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Medical Laboratory Technology and Biomedical Engineering. By 2017, Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Master of Technology (MTech) in these programmes will be introduced. Other BTech and MTech programmes that will start in 2017 are Medical Physics and Medical Imaging, Bioengineering, Radiology, Nursing/Home Healthcare, Health Information Management, Physician Assistantship and Public Health.

Mission statement

The Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences will provide high-quality academic training at the Higher National Diploma, Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology levels, through dedicated teaching and research in the health and allied sciences for the benefit of the citizens of Ghana.
